Installing Nihon

We give you a small bootstrapper that installs (and updates) Nihon on your device, alongside any dependencies. We don't make any drastic system changes.

You can find this installer on our user dashboard, just log into your account to download it.

Common Issues

Anti-Virus

Your anti-virus may flag Nihon as "malicious". This is what is known as a "False Positive".

In order to stop this, we suggest you add Nihon's files as an exclusion for your anti-virus, you can do this through your anti-virus settings. If you don't have a dedicated anti-virus installed, Windows Defender is what would flag Nihon.

Simply head to the settings, Windows Security, Virus & threat protection settings, and "Exclusions".

Install Errors

If you're getting installation errors, there's typically a few reasons why:

1. You're running Nihon! Make sure you don't have Nihon running already whilst trying to re-install it.
2. The anti-virus issue above often causes issues. Please ensure you have Nihon set as an exclusion.
3. Permissions. Please try to run the installer as an administrator.
